From the moment Charlie saw his beautiful bride Laura during their first look on a tucked-away wooden bridge to their heart-warming exchange of vows & taking of communion together under the trees near the water's edge of Bull Run Golf Club, this wedding was sweet, meaningful & all-around gorgeous in every way. Mr. & Mrs. Thomas, y'all are such an elegant couple!

A few months ago, I had the privilege of working with The DC Ladies for another feature profile. This time with Meghan DeAngelis Lorenzetti of Kendall's Cakes! I've been blessed to been able to get to know this incredible baker even better since then as we've gathered for tea & enjoyed many a good conservation about baking, marriage, puppies (she & her husband Joe recently added the cutest little dog named Otter to their family!) & life.

Ever so gracefully, Jesica walked out across the courtyard patio of the Atrium & down the aisle to the love of her life, David, waiting in front of an exquisite floral-draped cross that represented there mutual hope in the Lord & commitment to the vows they were about to make before God, their family & friends. {September Goals}
"and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all." {Colossians 3:10-11}
This passage in the letter Paul wrote to the believers in Colosse is so powerful! The believers were called to put OFF & to DEATH the old man, the fleshy ways that they once were so accustomed to. As 19th century English preacher Charles Spurgeon said, "We are to leave the grave of iniquity & the graveclothes of our sin behind."
Instead, they were to put ON the new man & clothe themselves with tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering & love (v. 12, 14). As believers today, we're called to the same transformation. It is certainly a life-long journey & like the beautiful quote above says, we're not done yet but we're not the same that we once were.
Philippians 1:6 is an awesome reminder of God's continuing work in our lives: "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." When will we see that perfection? That day when we reach heaven's streets of gold :)

August Gratefulgrams
Summer may be officially over but as a state of mind, the season is definitely still going strong :) In the same way, gratitude is definitely an intentional choice we make. Just yesterday I was fretting about life to Hubby & all the while, God has blessed us tremendously with so much. In those moments of frustration, comparison & uncertainty, it's His face I want to seek & His name I want to praise. Through it all, it is well with my soul.
